What is her name? I use to do this years ago. It was very pretty but I had some problems with losing hair on the top of my head. I’d love to talk to someone. Perhaps the products are better now. I did have problems with my blow-outs! My fault though. I kept them too long.!! They were so pretty I never wanted to go back! I didn’t & my hair fell out! By the hand full!!!

📣TO THE PEOPLE SAYING IT'S A JERI CURL/COMPLAINING ABOUT PRICE: 😫This style was during my mother's era and she use to talk about it all the time. All my mom, her friends, and the people I heard about having this did was complain about the drawbacks. 🤦🏽‍♀️Please be real about it. Everyone knows the cons to having a Jeri curl back in the day was the fact that you had to keep it wet with that oily, furniture ruining, greasy activator. This does NOT have to stay wet which makes it BETTER. 😤People are mad for 2 very OBVIOUS reasons: 1st, because nobody expected it to ever become popular again in the black community and used it as a punchline in jokes in the 90s. 2nd, it's because many people in the AA community devalue our own ingenious ideas and don't know how to capitalize off of it like Gina did. Learn to capitalize off of your own community. 🎯FINALLY: The cost of living back in the '80s and '90s was much different than it is today. With that said it doesn't mean that people were charging properly back then either. 💶 I can't believe people used to do this service for such a little bit of money for all that work. People need to wake up and realize they were paying pennies for the amount of work that people were doing ESPECIALLY BRAIDS!

I got a Jeri curl back in the 80's. The downside of having it in your hair is washing it. After washing it your hair is so hard 😫 that it takes a lot of products to get it back soft again. Also, it would take a couple of days before my hair would feel soft. To get that mess out you have to cut ✂️ your hair. 😢

My Mom tells me that she will never give me a perm and she told me even when I get older to NEVER do a perm because once You do it for the first time you have to keep doing it a lot and if you don’t have enough money for the next time you do with your hair will fall out that whats she told me!
